HOW OFTEN DO YOU BATHE THE PIG?--You can bathe a pig just as you would a dog, as often as necessary.
I HAVE TRIED MANY DIFFERENT BRANDS OF PET AND BABY PRODUCTS ON THE PIGS. THESE TWO ARE MY OVERALL FAVORITE--I find both at Walmart. I USE THE COCONUT OIL SHAMPOO, RINSE, THEN POUR A 1/2 OF A CAP FULL OF THE VITAMIN E OIL IN A PLASTIC CUP AND FILL WITH WARM WATER. THEN FOR A FINAL RINSE, SLOWLY POUR THE DILUTED E OIL OVER THEIR ENTIRE BODY. YOU CAN EVEN SCOOP UP WATER IN THE BOTTOM OF THE SINK AND KEEP POURING IT BACK OVER THEM A FEW TIMES. THEN I PUT A FEW DROPS ON MY FINGERTIPS AND MASSAGE IT ON THEIR LITTLE SNOUTS AND THE BACKS OF THEIR EARS. DO NOT RINSE, AND TOWEL DRY..
TIPS FOR BATHING PIGGY for the 1st time:
Make sure you keep your hand under his/her chest area for support and to hold them still. DO NOT let them roam freely in the sink/tub, until they become comfortable with you and their new surroundings....What happens is they will try to scurry away when you are shampooing them and the end result is them slipping and sliding around, even falling down. You do not want this because then the bath is a scary/stressful thing and they dread it! You can give them a treat, like a raisin, when you first put them into the sink, then after bath is done. this rewards them and lets them know its not such a bad place to be. They WILL get better! I promise. look at the video below of how Glitzy enjoys his baths now. We all know what a character he was when young... :-)
