FIRST OFF...YOU WILL NOT FIND PICTURES OF NEWBORN PIGS (hairless, or with small amounts of fuzz), TAKEN FROM THEIR MOTHER AND STUFFED INTO CANS, GLASSES, OR JARS to make a cute photo shoot on my website..... WE ARE NOT OUT FOR A QUICK SALE. THE BABY WILL BE WITH IT'S MOTHER, WHERE IT SHOULD BE (please watch the video on the faq/info page. it is from animal planet and goes over the studies done at universities proving how damaging it is to take a pig away from it's mother too early). I HAPPILY POST PICTURES OF THE LITTER, AND WILL EVEN PICK THEM UP FOR AN INDIVIDUAL PICTURE, and the babies will have their "for sale" pictures when they are closer to being able to leave....So... my main goal is NOT to lock in a sale, the day after their umbilical cord drops off, like other breeders do. This is a huge red flag that they are trying to get rid of the babies at a young age before they get big....please see the scam page I have created to read about common tricks that are used in this market to deceive the customer.................... I wean the babies at around 12 weeks, and they can usually leave about 4 weeks later once I have them on scheduled feedings, and they are finished with shots.
You can find cheaper! AND you can find less expensive! The teacup pig market is getting more and more popular and there are honest breeders, but also people who want to get in on a quick sale. The biggest thing i hear of is customers buying piglets aged 4-8 weeks old. Not everyone realized that ALL pigs are born tiny, even ones that will be 200 lbs. the thing is...they grown rapidly. so if the breeder does not get rid of them very early. they will get HUGE and they will never sell them. Some breeders will try and sell very cheap to get rid of them fast...then i have seen websites selling pigs for $3500-$5000 claiming they are the tiniest, but still people wind up with giant pets that they can't keep. I have heard of breeders trying to fool customers by telling them size is determined by the boar (daddy) not the HUGE mom..that's really untrue.... can you breed a shetland pony to a Clydesdale, and wind up with a Shetland pony?? IF THIS WERE THE CASE, PIGS defy ALL LAWS OF GENETICS for mammals and only get dna from the dad.....
THEY ARE ALSO SHOWING YOU PICTURES OF JUVENILE PIGS...and calling them their breeders....these are NOT breeders. they just do NOT want you to see how darn big their breeders really are....so do this...ask them to measure them. ask for a yardstick TOUCHING the pig...behind it. because they can use trick photography by placing the stick or object in front of the pig--because it make whatever is behind it look smaller. please do your homework--there are more dishonest than honest out there.
My pigs are mostly a mix of African Pygmy and Juliana. The Juliana pigs lighten the bone structure because they are a thinner structure, but people don't like the "ant-eater" nose on the Julianas. MICRO NANO is not an actual breed of pig , it is just a term people use to tell you what they are looking for....just like the term "teacup" dog...
